Members of the RF,
Greetings and welcome to the March newsletter. Today is an exciting issue of the newsletter, with a huge announcement that leads off our news. So put on your snorkel and fins and dive in!
Some of you may have noticed that we have a rather prominent addition to our roster. I'm pleased to announce that the Rebel Squadrons' Star Wars Galaxies preparation efforts have paid off in the creation of an SWG division! The new division, named Vanguard Wing, will be the hub of SWG in the RS now and after the game is released. The CO is a man many of you might know from his time in the RS a few years ago, BGN Torin Qel-Droma, better known as Cody. MGN Wes "Gizmo" Belden, who was previously in charge of SWG efforts in the RS, has stepped aside because of RL time constraints to allow Cody to take command. Giz will still be in close contact with the group, however. The creation of Vanguard is a very exciting turning point in our preparations for SWG. With the release only a little more than a month away, Vanguard is proving popular. Join today and prepare for a Star Wars experience like no other!

In other RF news, LCM Tracken Hit has been given command of Solatium Battalia (Homeworld mod). Solatium was near being disbanded when Tracken offered to take charge, so if you would like to help him get Solatium back on its feet again, email him at briankurtbrewster@hotmail.com
The SWAT CO, LCM Petosky, has taken leave and CPT Tyrian Soh-Jin is in temporary command.
Ghost is on hold while the CO, COL Licah Fox, is on leave.
RA Adam "Vender" Fene has released Xaver's first mission, fly Xaver people, fly!
Lastly, the STC has a Battle Night going on... right now! Rush on over to #RSSTC if you get this on time.
The webpage (http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/rf) is up-to-date with current division numbers, etc. I've also been updating the RF history section in "General Info" fairly often, based on reports from former-FC Super. It's fun to see RF history getting fleshed out, if you like that sort of thing.
Another fun thing, the Redemption Fleet Order of Battle has been updated! This little source is a must if you are writing fictional material about our fleet. You can view the capital ships in the RF at the top of the "General Info" page (http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/rf/generalinfo.php). We're also listed on the new clubwide Order of Battle Database (http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/oob/).
In terms of awards, I think we all owe our hearty thanks to Giz for his work with the SWG PA. It wasn't easy keeping a group of people together and interested in a game that is not yet released, but he suceeded! Because of this difficult and unusal task, I've nominated him for the Kessel Cup. Hopefully our MO will agree with me. :) Congrats Giz, you deserve it!
Our XO, Ben Jynzer, was promoted to Lieutenant General by the Fleet Commander the other day. I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate him and thank him for being my XO. Way to go, Ben!
Classifieds: Jester, the STC CO, is STILL looking for a Paladin Squadron CO.
